About the KSDA

The Knoxville Swing Dance Association is a non-profit organization, and the home of vintage swing music and dancing in Knoxville, TN. We organize a weekly dance and classes, Wednesday Night Swing, and also plan events and workshops for the local and regional swing dancers. We teach classes in Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, and Solo Jazz – traditional vernacular jazz dances of the 1920s to 1950s.

Mission Statement

The KSDA promotes swing dancing, education, and community in Knoxville, TN—with these overarching goals:

• Provide a fun and safe environment for dancers of all levels to have fun, join the community, and have a pathway for growth.

• Create an awareness of, and appreciation for, good-quality swing dancing and swing music in the KSDA community and Knoxville at large.

• Maintain an environment where dancers of all levels are appreciated and encouraged.

• Consistently work to better the community, dance, education, etc.
